Custom fragrance development

Create a scent
that is yours.

Custom fragrance oil development for brands, manufacturers and commercial scent projects. Start with an existing direction or a custom brief, then move through samples and application trials to an agreed reference and commercial supply.

Discuss your projectExplore Fragrance Library

Bespoke fragrance creation from a client direction to a professional sample

Begin with your application.
Shape the fragrance direction.

Candles, reed diffusers, room fragrance and commercial scenting each shape a different fragrance brief. Start with the intended product or system.

Start with an existing fragrance direction.
Explore the library, shortlist references and evaluate a selected direction. Discuss adaptation for your intended application where appropriate.

Discuss a custom fragrance direction.
Bring your brand concept, scent character or reference and application. Together, we can discuss a project-specific direction and evaluation needs.

Start a development brief

10 mL / DISCOVER
Fragrance discovery and initial scent evaluation.

500 mL / TEST
An application-trial quantity to discuss where appropriate.

25 kg / SCALE
Commercial fragrance-oil supply.

These are commercial stages, not required order sizes. A 500 mL trial is not mandatory and 25 kg is not a universal MOQ. Quantities, packaging, availability, costs and supply terms are confirmed for each project.

Developed fragrance samples and blotters arranged for comparison, written assessment and refinement
  1. Project brief
Define the application, target scent character, project stage and purchasing needs. Share an existing reference if useful.
  2. Fragrance direction
Shortlist existing directions or discuss a custom direction based on the brief.
  3. Sample
Evaluate initial samples for scent character and select a direction to take forward.
  4. Application trial
Evaluate the selected direction in the intended formula, product or scenting system. Suitability remains subject to project-specific evaluation.
  5. Feedback & refinement
Review trial feedback and discuss adjustment or confirmation within the agreed development scope.
  6. Agreed reference
Confirm the selected fragrance reference and relevant project and supply specification before commercial ordering.
  7. Commercial supply
Plan fragrance-oil quantities, supply format and repeat purchasing around the agreed reference.
A useful first brief

Bring the details
that shape the direction.

You do not need a finished technical specification to start. Share what you know; details can develop through the conversation.

Application & system

Describe the product, intended use and relevant base, formulation or delivery system.

Scent direction

Share the target character, preferred notes and an existing reference, if available.

Market & audience

Tell us the target country or market, audience and intended setting.

Development stage

Explain where the project stands and what scent samples or application trials you need.

Commercial requirements

Indicate expected purchasing quantities, supply format and target timing.

Evaluation & documentation

Share how you plan to evaluate the fragrance and which project documents need discussion.

Clear expectations

Define the project
before development.

Confirm sample costs, revision scope, timing, minimum order quantity, formula ownership and any exclusivity terms in the project agreement. None of these are implied by a sample request.

References communicate a scent direction. Exact duplication, equivalence or rights to another brand's fragrance name are not assumed.

We support fragrance-oil selection, development discussion and supply. Finished-product formulation, validation and approval remain part of the project's application-specific development process.

Can you develop a custom fragrance oil for my project?

We can discuss a fragrance direction around your application, brand and commercial brief. The development scope and evaluation requirements are agreed for the project; suitability is not assumed.

Can I start from an existing fragrance instead of developing from scratch?

Yes. Explore the Fragrance Library and shortlist a direction for evaluation. If the brief calls for refinement or adaptation, we can discuss it without assuming a new fragrance is required.

What information should I provide to start a fragrance project?

Share the application, target scent character, reference if available, market, project stage, sample or trial needs, expected quantity and timing. You do not need every detail to begin.

Can I request samples before discussing commercial supply?

Yes. Discuss scent samples and, where appropriate, an application trial before commercial ordering. Availability, quantities, costs and supply terms are confirmed for the project.

What happens after a fragrance direction is selected?

Evaluate it in the intended application and share feedback. Discuss any refinement, then agree the fragrance reference and supply specification before planning commercial quantities and repeat supply.
